Stayed 3 nights in hope cottage which was on the lake edge with a beautiful hot tub privately placed outside the bedroom. Two bedrooms, amazing couple size shower and lovely toiletries. Beds super comfortable! Sky TV and a Bluetooth speaker nespresso, milk frother, dishwasher, everything you could need in a kitchen. ... They left us some eggs from the chickens and fruit from the orchard, and a bottle of wine for my birthday. We saw a deer walk past on the lawn and the birdlife on the lake was spectacular. Underfloor heating and climate control and a beautiful fireplace. Could not fault this place... just take clothes and food and a good book. Hands down the most beautiful place I have stayed. Go for a walk down by the lake there's another fire pit we didn't discover until the last morning.

These cottages are beautifully designed right down to the last detail. The living space is generous and well laid out and the bedrooms finished to a high standard with no expense spared on the beds to ensure a great night's sleep. Situated right on the lake edge, it's hard to beat this location when you have Arrowtown and other amenities only a minutes' drive from the cottages. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay in this area and even go far as to say that you would be hard-pressed to find a better package. Well done Kirsty and Justin. Absolutely spot on.

I recently had the pleasure in staying a couple of nights at the Lake Hayes Cottages. What an absolute treasure this place is. The cottage we stayed in was first class, the bed was extremely comfortable, the interior was absolutely beautiful, inviting, and most importantly restful. Lake Hayes not only provides you with a very comfortable stay but, you are blessed to be surrounded by the most stunning views Aotearoa provides. We stayed at Hope Cottage for three nights. The cottage is very comfortable and the decor is superb. Having a private spa tub was excellent and it was a great way to end the day, soaking in the tub watching the sun go down, while enjoying some great Pinot Noir. The outlook to Lake Hayes is magnificent and it is so quiet. I would recommend the cottages for a couple, or family (two bedrooms and two bathrooms), a great place to stay and easy access to Arrowtown & Queenstown.

We loved staying at The Cottages Lake Hayes. Well appointed with beautiful art, comfortable bed, and a well-appointed kitchen area. We stayed in cottage Moke, named after a lake in the area. The color scheme was to our taste, as each cottage has its own identity. Loved the location just below the Pinot Pit. The Pinot pit is so lovely. An area to sit, enjoy a snack, and the view. Maybe toast a few marshmallows. This cottage also has a hot tub located outside the second bedroom. A highlight was star gazing while enjoying a wine after enjoying the Pinot Pit. Parking just outside your door. An area for drying clothing or storing skis, etc. Washer and dryer on-site as well. Looking so forward to a return visit to this wonderful place to stay

We had the most fabulous time staying at The Cottages, so much space, stunning artwork, comfy beds, fab views and great location right on the lake and so close to Arrowtown with restaurants if you want to go out. We went skiing and are planning a summer trip mountain biking now.

These cottages are the best! Spectacular view over the lake & spaciously set up with a great outdoor fire pit for evening drinks. Modern design inside with great window seats and large windows that open up. Awesomely comfy beds! We took 3 cottages for a girls weekend, location near Arrowtown was perfect & we had such a fun time! Highly recommend.

The PERFECT stay! So many pretty things all in one package! The view of the beautiful lake, the inside interior, the artwork, even the landscaping... it's all so aesthetically pleasing. Not only was the cottage so warm and cozy upon arrival, but all the floors are heated and the fireplace adds an extra cozy touch. The modern full- kitchen made it so simple and easy to make a wonderful homemade meal for dinner. Waking up the first morning was also amazing as we drank coffee on the huge window seat while watching the sun come up over the mountains. The 2-minute walk down to the main lake trail is breathtaking as we saw friendly people riding bikes and walking their dogs. Will definitely be coming back. It will be hard to find another place so accommodating and beautiful.

Such a paradise! Sometimes Instagram does not live up to reality. I had been following the cottages at Lake Hayes thinking how wonderful they looked. They are even better in reality! Impeccably designed to the incredible views, they are so comfortable and feel like you want to live in one forever! Can not recommend enough and am coming back in a few months!

Loved it! Stunning spot! We stayed in Alta, one of the five cottages they offer. We absolutely loved everything about it. Amazing setting and clever layout to offer the incredible scenery. Had a few fresh nights and the cottage kept us nice n snug. Fresh eggs, handwritten postcard, the comfiest beds we have ever encountered- what a treat! It had everything we could’ve asked for. Decent wifi. Looking forward to returning and checking out the other cottages too. Many thanks for the wonderful stay!

Cant wait to come back and stay again! Well equipped cottages with stunning outlook over looking Lake Hayes. Easy park up to the front door access to each cottage which has two king size bedrooms and spacious en-suites each, along with a full kitchen and lovely dining/sitting area. Perfect for two couples travelling or a family. Will def come back and stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Delightful stay Great stay at the cottages at lake Hayes. Each of the cottages are tastefully done, great big sliding windows capturing the best views. Warm, lots of light, spacious bedrooms with ensuites. Perfect for family visits or friends. So close to Amisfield, Akarua, arrowtown and Queenstown. Definitely stay again.

We loved it!! We were so thrilled when we arrived at our cottage and saw the beautiful setting and gorgeous lake views.We were equally excited when we went inside, it is a fab, modern and tastefully decorated space. We were given a very warm welcome and left to enjoy our stunning view, crisp linen, comfy sofa and total relaxation. It is very close to everything you need or want just down the road but tucked away enough that it feels like a lovely dose of quiet nature and epic views. It has everything you could ask for really. There were even marshmallows supplied to roast on the outdoor fire pit. It's a pretty special place! We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Hidden Gem We booked the entire property for a 5 day holiday of adventure-packed family and friends celebration. The accommodation was first class. the rooms are so comfortable with everything you could possibly need. The location was superb so close to everything - Arrowtown, the mountain, the airport, and Queenstown. The firepit was a fabulous venue to socialise.

Great base to explore We had a great stay in the very well designed cottages, that provided privacy and space. The location meant everything was super easy - direct access to the lake and loop track walk, a close drive to the most beautiful parts and restaurants of the Arrowtown and Queenstown area, and a lovely window bench to recline on when back in the cottage for a relaxing wine!

Everything was perfect! We stayed here for 4 nights and it was amazing! Beautiful part of the area but still close to Queenstown, Arrowtown and the local wineries. The Lake Hayes walking path is right out the front of the cottages. There is an open fire, underfloor heating, divine throw rugs and heated towel rails. So warm we slid the big windows open and enjoyed the day bed. Hot tub and outside fire called the ‘Pinot Pit’. Excellent kitchen set up, wine glasses and coffee machine. They have thought of everything! The surrounding area, road in and views are incredible. Love, love, loved it! Thank you

Outstanding The location of Lake Hayes sells itself, but the accommodation was absolutely perfect in every way. Fastidiously clean, beautifully appointed from the linen, to the furnishings, and kitchen amenities, could not have asked for more. The personal outdoor hot tub facing the lake is such a lovely and relaxing addition - while we went in December, this must be truly blissful after a day's skiing as would the shared Pinot Pit and the underfloor heating. A laundry, lockable ski rack room, and drying room, make this accommodation completely self-sufficient. With two spacious bedrooms with ensuites, the Cottages would be ideal for two couples. We own tourism accommodation in the Cook Islands, and feel like we have a good idea of what guests like and expect - this was it - you will not be disappointed.

Outstanding location and views I was looking for something outside of Queenstown itself with easy access to the other attractions in the area and this cottage really came through on that front. Beautiful views of Lake Hayes and an added bonus to look at those views from the hot-tub. Well set-up with almost everything you need - note there is no microwave if that is important to you (but there is an oven and Nespresso machine). Thanks so much for making my birthday trip away extra special.

Luxurious accommodation overlooking Lake Hayes We had a delightful five stay at the cottages. They are very well appointed with two equally comfortably bedrooms. A great kitchen if you want to cook and a cosy living area with a potbelly which gave out incredible heat. Amazing views over Lake Hayes.

Great views from the hot tub! The cottages are in a beautiful setting and are super clean and well-kept. The art by NZ artists adds to the ambiance as does some classic pieces of furniture. Sitting in the hot tub you get great views of Lake Hayes. It is 2min onto the walking trail around the lake and there is plenty of other things to do in the area. A great place for a relaxing get-away!

A most idyllic location, right on lake Hayes. More peaceful than Queenstown yet only a short drive when you want to go there. We found the location close to everything you would typically want to do in the area, Arrowtown, Gibbston Valley, on the way to Wanaka, Coronet Peak…. The cabins themselves are immaculately decorated, clean, roomy and an absolute pleasure to relax in. Will definitely be back.

Awesome family holiday My family had a wonderful long weekend at the The Cottages. We loved the attention to detail and the special touches that were provided by Kirsty and Justin. The location is great and the views are stunning (including from the by the fire in the Pinot Pit). I would recommend this accommodation, and would love to visit again.

My favorite Queenstown accommodation The Cottages has an amazing view. I could just sit by the window all day. Very relaxing. I love it is a little bit further away from crowded Queenstown tourist area but not far if you want to go to the town or Arrowtown for good food. Perfect for families with fully equipped kitchen and fun with friends as well. I do recommend to book a cottage with a hot tub. It was so refreshing. I would love to come with my family next time.

Simply Beautiful What an incredibly special place, I absolutely adored our stay. I would say it really is the best of both worlds, beautifully located between the city and in the country. The cottage itself is something you would find in House and Garden magazine; so beautifully appointed and the art curation is out of this world. We will definitely be booking again!

Stunning stay on beautiful Lake Hayes What a spot. This is an absolute gem, perfectly positioned for our family ski trip between Queenstown, Cardrona, Coronet Peak and the Remarkables. The cottage was beautifully designed and appointed, and was incredibly cosy with its heated floors and wood fire. The views are incredible, and the proximity to both world-class wineries like Amisfield and great food in Arrowtown were a huge added bonus. Kirsty and Justin were so friendly and flexible, and made our stay an absolute delight. We’ve spent 5 of the past 12 months travelling, including stays at some of Europe’s top hotels, and this was one of our favourite places ever. We will be back asap!

Brilliant execution! We had two cottages with friends and family. It’s a gorgeous location. It has been very thoughtfully planned and built. This made our stay a real pleasure - it’s far from a standard, “beige” holiday rental. We left some personal items in a drawer and were extremely thankful that they were safely returned to us.
