With a backdrop of 2,300 vertical metres of the Remarkables mountain range and an outstanding lake panorama, Jack's Point Golf course is one of the most visually spectacular in the world, and is rightly ranked the number one course in the South Island of New Zealand. Jack's Point is only 15 minutes from The Cottages and the course is open for all visitors to enjoy 7 days a week in season. The course offers golfers an exciting challenge with five tee positions to choose from, providing all golfers an unforgettable golf experience. Designed in harmony with the natural environment, the course weaves through native tussock grasslands, dramatic rock outcrops, steep bluffs and swathes of native bush to the edge of Lake Wakatipu.
Sir Michael Hill's private golf course in Arrowtown was opened in 2007 to host The New Zealand Open. Set over 500 acres of land across a glacial valley, The Hills is home to an incredible array of flora including native brown top grasses and wild native mountain tussocks. Sculptures crafted by New Zealand artists compliment the natural beauty of the courses lakes, waterways and wetland areas. The 6596 meter par 72 championship course features numerous elevated tees offering players an excellent view of the challenge ahead and 360 degree views of spectacular snow capped mountain scenery. There are no parallel fairways and no two holes are alike. While primarily a private club, The Hills accepts a limited number of visitor bookings daily. Players visiting have access to the clubhouse, locker room facilities, and driving range for the day of their booking, as well as the recently constructed 9-hole par 3 course, The Farm. The clubhouse restaurant is open to players for both breakfast and lunch, and food and beverages can be delivered on course by request.
The current home of The NZ Open, surrounded by the towering mountains of the Wakatipu basin, Millbrook Resort has 2 stunning 18 hole golf courses, Remarkables and Coronet, set amongst 650 acres of scenic rolling greens and water features. Designed by golf masters Sir Bob Charles and Greg Turner, a round here is simply an unforgettable experience.
The picturesque Arrowtown Golf Club was recently ranked 7th in New Zealand, is just 10 minutes from The Cottages and is a must play when visiting Queenstown on a golf trip. Surrounded by mountains, the 18-hole course has superb views from every fairway, and each hole has its own attractions and quirks, from glacial boulders in the fairways to a historic stone cottage ruins nestle amongst towering trees, a legacy of Arrowtown's pioneers. The Arrowtown Golf Club is open all year round and welcomes green-fee players. Rated one of the top 10 courses in New Zealand and recently listed on Golf.com's "Short and Sweet" list of the top 25 best short courses worldwide, the Arrowtown Golf Course is a must play.
The Queenstown Golf Club has been described as one of the most picturesque golf courses in the world. Located on the Kelvin Heights peninsula, surrounded by the crystal clear waters of the Lake Wakatipu you will see why it is difficult to keep your head down!
